I've worked with ROS on both Simulation and real hardware, using rospy, roscpp for desktop/mobile robotics applications and rosserial for microcontroller systems. I've had experience on ROS with Path Planning, Trajectory Following, Control Theory and State Machine.
I've used & configured pre-built Gazebo simulation for a Quadrotor with rotors_simulator and underwater vehicle with uwsim.
I've worked with STM32Fx Microcontrollers, on control applications including encoder reading, DC Motor Speed control, temperature reading and various sensors etc.
I've worked with NodeMCU boards and ESP8266 microcontrollers, created examples of collecting data from multiple nodes (devices), encrypting gathered data and communicating with a server being custom built or an industry standard such as MQTT host.
I've worked with various communication protocols such as Encrypted MQTT, Encrypted TCP/IP and MODBUS. I've worked with Industrial Grade Motor Controllers using such protocols.
I've worked with RS-485, RS-232, RS-422, UART/USART, I2C (Inter-IC Communication), I2S (Inter-IC Sound), and SPI on STM32Fx boards or hobby kits such as Arduino etc.
